Photovoltaic-grade TAIC CAS 1025-15-6

Photovoltaic-grade TAIC CAS 1025-15-6

TAIC (triallyl isocyanurate) is a multifunctional chemical additive mainly used to enhance the performance of materials such as plastics, rubber, and resins. Its core function is to "link" polymer chains to form a more stable three-dimensional network structure, thereby enhancing the material's heat resistance, strength, corrosion resistance, and other properties.

Description

**General Plastic Modification

It is suitable for polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene (PS), etc.

Effect: Improves heat resistance (e.g., making wires and cables safer at high temperatures), flame retardancy (reduces fire risks), and mechanical strength (improves impact resistance).

**Key Photovoltaic Materials

High-purity TAIC is used in EVA film for solar cells to enhance its weather resistance and transparency while extending the module lifespan.

Plastic cross-linking and modification

TAIC serves as a crosslinking co-agent to accelerate rubber vulcanization and enhance performance. It is suitable for ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), fluororubber, chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), and other specialty rubbers. Its effects include shortened vulcanization time (improved production efficiency), as well as enhanced wear resistance (e.g., making car seals more durable) and solvent resistance (e.g., resistance to oils and chemicals).

Resin cross-linking and modification

TAIC endows resins with higher performance to meet the demanding demands of industry

**Ion Exchange Resin

TAIC replaces traditional crosslinking agents (such as divinylbenzene) at a lower dosage, producing anti-pollution resins with strong acid and alkali resistance for water treatment or chemical purification.

**Engineering Resin Reinforcement

  • Epoxy resin: TAIC is used as a potting adhesive for electronic components to enhance adhesion and mechanical strength.
  • Unsaturated polyester: TAIC enables fiberglass products to withstand temperatures above 180°C (e.g., high-temperature pipelines).
  • Organic glass (PMMA): TAIC improves transparency and heat resistance, making it suitable for optical devices.

Synthesis of special materials

TAIC itself or its derivatives can be made into high-performance materials

Safety Glass Adhesive

TAIC homopolymer is a transparent, hard resin used for bonding glass and ceramics, as well as for manufacturing explosion-proof glass.

Electronic Insulation Materials

TAIC prepolymers can form radiation-resistant and insulating coatings on metal surfaces, making them suitable for circuit boards.

Environmentally Friendly Coatings and Flame Retardants

TAIC serves as an intermediate for synthesizing UV-curable coatings and flame retardants (such as TBC), which are used in building materials and electronic products.
